I graduated from the University of Indianapolis back in 2020 with my bachelor’s degree in human biology. After graduation, I continued to work as a dog trainer for a small, local business. I worked with dogs on basic obedience, confidence building, & socialization skills while simultaneously working with their owners to help them feel confident in their abilities. I then moved on to working within the biology field as a lab technician. Here, I was responsible for processing biological specimens to be examined by cytologists for cancer diagnostics. A little over a year later, I began my work at Regenstrief Institute as a research assistant. Currently, I’m working on the DANE study where our focus is helping aging adults recover, both physically & mentally, from unexpected surgeries while simultaneously preventing diseases such as dementia & Alzheimer’s. Personally, this research has given me a sense of satisfaction in being able to provide personalized help to patients & their families & by hopefully providing them with some relief & comfort in their recovery.
